This year has been quite different in the fact that we have explored quite a few new ideas, and a new member has joined us. She has become so excited by all that she wants to know and now has access to.
I have tried to bring in ideas that other students have not covered, too, and some of my teaching of digitising has crept in too.
We have covered creating landscapes using gelli plate printing of paper and fabric, tearing it up and using these to lay down a basis to work with. We have created vessels, creating texture and colour. We have worked with wendy dolan style by creating a neutral coloured fabric pieced background, colour and stitch. We have also worked with Lynda Monk's techniques using lutrador, foiling, moulding paste and colour sprays. All great fun.
This coming Autumn term and following year will be different due to the once a month workshop idea. So I have to get my thinking cap on and make it exciting for all, plus teaching newer members skills they are anxious to learn.
